GRI : new standards on climate, energy and biodiversity
GRI standards are undergoing significant updates. Three major changes are on the horizon:
- GRI 101 Biodiversity 2024 — effective January 1, 2026, it extends disclosure requirements to impacts across the entire value chain, not just direct operations
- GRI 102 Climate Change 2025 — effective January 1, 2027, it introduces requirements on climate transition plans, alignment with a 1.5°C pathway and Scope 3 emissions
- GRI 103 Energy 2025 — effective January 1, 2027, it requires detailed disclosures on energy policies, consumption and value chain impacts
These updates strengthen GRI's interoperability with CSRD and ISSB, consolidating its role as the global reference standard for sustainability reporting.
