What is the EDCI standard?
THEEDCI (Enterprise Data for Climate Initiative) is a collaborative initiative launched in 2022, led byESG Data Convergence Initiative and supported by major institutional investors such as Brookfield, Carlyle, Blackstone, or CalPERS, with the support of World Economic Forum.
Objective: create a common base of standardized climate and ESG data, simple and comparable, that the businesses can pass on to their investors, in particular in the context of private equity transactions, private debt or impact financing.
The EDCI is based on a shortlist of key ESG-climate indicators, in particular on carbon emissions, diversity, workplace accidents, net zero commitments, etc.
